A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

What were the years of this building? Was this during the Floyd Smith years? And speaking of which, what were the years of the Pachyderm house that preceded the River's Edge, that housed elephants, rhinos, hippos and tapirs? Anyone have any information?
Ryan,
I copied this picture from a 1926 copyrighted guide book. Was that not before Floyd Smith? Jim Alexander who was a sea lion trainer at St. Louis for years, I am sure could answer our questions. I lost his new email and don't know how to contact him. He has moved to Florida. Does your father know how to contact him. I tried to invite him to the blog, but Buckles won't let me post my email on his blog anymore.
