I notice in the photo of you riding [Wade] that the horse has a running martingale on. I find that with using my hands with feeling thru both bits and the adjustments that any "tie downs-martingales are not necessary. John Herriott As this statement may have caused some confusion, the above photo of a dirty horse shows a tie down. A useful piece of equipment for roping horses, when you only have one hand, or no hands as this nut is demonstrating and have 3 to 5 seconds to get your job done. The horse below is wearing a German Martingale, useful for teaching a horse to stay "soft in your hands", as only slight pressure is necessary to engage it.
