Ole Whitey said...Bob Kitto: My wife's niece and her family have been visiing from California and I didn't know about this dust-up until this morning.
Billposters like me don't know anything about animal training but I see that some guys who do know about it defended Beatty's rep very well

In the 12 comments Ole Whitey was responding to "guys who know something about animal training and defended Beatty's rep, I am assuming were Roger Smith and John Herriott. I had just commented that he had a flat lash like somebody else I knew. And that person told me it made it easier to move props. John Herriott said Beatty didn't move props, and it turned into me ducking from flying props!!!! LOL Somebody is awful defensive.
The point is when Ole Whitey counted the "guys who know something about animal training and defended Beatty rep very well", he missed this lady who may "know something about animal training". I don't know who she is, so I can't qualify her. Apparently Old Whitey can't either. Or maybe the "guys who know something about animal training and defended Beatty's rep" disqualified her for us, and Ole Whitey didn't see her. LOL

On the A&E Circus Special, a woman trainer used her opportunity to contribute to history by discounting Beatty's act for what it didn't include. "stating an opinion, is discounting?"
What it included was projection, charisma, and the lasting capacity to grip and maintain the public's imagination, leading to indelible fame which remained in a circus title 38 years after his passing. Her name, and those of most of us, did not achieve this. Some of us recognize this and some of us do not. "Who are we talking about here"
When he broke up the lay-down, all hell broke loose with it until he sorted them out to me on his tunnel door. "If this occurred today, in a cage act, it would be held up as example of how "the guy doesn't know what he is doing." Right or wrong, Casey, Ben, Jim Z. Or am I wrong, and the public wants to see it, and they will come back in droves........
