A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Is this "Boo" / "Queenie'...the Davenport one?
Queenie, as in Boo? As in the elephant from l.E barnes and Baily All American Kingsford Circus of China? :(
No it is formerly Hawthorns Queenie. Purchased with Liz and Jackie from Bret Bronson.

mis information is what starts rumors . Wade Liz and Jackie did not belong to Bret they belong to Bensons wildlife park and were action with all the rest of the animals and rides . Mr.Cuneo bought them and Bret delivered them to wtq and i stayed behind in New Hampshire baby sitting the other elephants Tsavo Tonya and the other ones . CleanRaul
Clean Raul,
I am sorry. I did not mean to indicated that they were owned by Brett. I should have indicated Brett Bronson from Bensons brought them, which is what I intended. I didn't understand their purchase initially, except the needed to be sold fast. With the exception of Jackie, the other two were poor physical specimens. Liz with a paralyzed trunk, Queenie with a head/neck twitch that she retained all her life. In the past, I and others questioned the nutrition they may have received as babies spending most of their life together.

Just stumbled across this site. Just to clarify on Queen, Liz, Jackie. They all originated from Bensons Animal Park, NH. Queen, Liz and another 'Ruth' were originally trained by Slivers Madison. All AWESOME elephants. In the mid 70's, Bensons Animal Park fell into disrepair and poor management. Another trainer in charge at the time, provided very poor care and abused them terribly. Hence, the paralyzed trunks and other issues. I started working at Benson in 1980. I took over care/handling of the elephants in '85. I cared for them until they were sold at auction. I remained on site to care for them unitl paper work cleared for them to head to Hawthorne Corp. I escorted them there, spent 4 days to settle in and came home.
