Elvis Presley's "rest and relaxation center."

Libertyland is the amusement park that the immortal Elvis used to rent a couple of day's a week, from closing time to opening the next day, when he was done touring, so that he and his mates(and quite a few Shella's I've heard) could enjoy themselves privately in the wee morning hours, with out being bothered by fans, if they had gone during regular business hours. You have to wonder how much of the Memphis Zoo's incredible success/expansion comes from being a "satellite" amusement to the incredible Presley/Graceland juggernaut?

Oradea Zoo Lion Update

I was aware of what happened with the Oradea lions, but didn't want to have to admit that man is still that ignorant, or to offer free press for the dim, shady world of "captive/rescue animal sanctuaries." Instead of treating the lions to a life of living like William Wallace in a medieval Gaelic Scottish Highland mud hut, I gotta wonder how much better off lions of the world would be, given these have no useful genetic material, if they had been euthanized and the funds raised/used to build and fence this "complex" and ship them from Romania to England, had been instead donated to any number of great conservation organizations such as

or at the very least, fund a study to research if there is an interest and future revenue in the area for a zoo in Oradea, and then rehabilitate the zoo at it's current location and finance an operating infra structure for it's continuation into a proper future.

Memphis Zoo--Northwest Passage and Teton Trek

Has anybody ever been to the Teton's? Well, I have and this looks like nothing I ever saw. In fact, it looks a lot like Vancouver's Stanley Park Zoo(except their totems were authentic), and that closed a decade ago. Who ever thought the majestic building's and museum's of zoological learning and enlightenment of yesterday, would be replaced by Walt Disney and Steven Spielberg story boards.

Obviously the exhibit was inspired by Elvis Presley's bedroom, complete with 3 inch shag carpeting. Assisting as part of the creative team was Jimmy Yee, manager of the Golden Dragon Buffet and Take Out.

Who else besides a zoological doctorate would pay a fortune for realism, so that they can "enrich" it with Tupperware and Walmart?

Oradea Zoo

This is about the only thing worth saving at the Oradea Zoo. Try as I might, I can't find any information about this building. Was it an animal building/house, or was it a St. Francis of Assisi patron saint of animals and ecology church? Any thoughts from folks in Europe?
