A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Speaking of Birds
This is Zapata who I have been carrying from city to city since the middle of August. A few hotels have objected but given my charm, I am able to smooth it over. I caught him in a city park where he had unwisely picked a fight with 4 cats. They pummeled him pretty badly and it cost me 750 pesos(I know, pretty stupid right?) to be told his wing was broken and he would die shortly. Well he didn't die, and the wing seems to be have healed as he get's around the room pretty well when released. I'm thinking he is goldbricking and having grown fond of a steady diet, warm housing and no cat's to beef with doesn't want to be released. I enjoy his company, so maybe he can stay for a while longer. I just wish he was a Harpy Eagle or at least a Gyrfalcon instead. I know I look pretty candy ass walking down the street with a suit case and a bird cage!!!!!

ReplyDeleteAnyone can wailk with an eagle or a falcon.....it takes a REAL MAN to walk with a tweetie bird in a cage. Just shows how much you care. Keep up the good work...Happy New Year.

Toby,
ReplyDeleteMaybe, but I still don't like it when they refer to me as "Marie in room 215."
