A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

What do you think about this, Wade (From Dick Dykes Blog). Could those fish be real with magnets attached to their bellies? Or perhaps they're not real fish and being controlled by magnets beneath the table? Any way it's pretty startling. Caution; there's a lot of chatter before you get to the main event.

Ian,
1. Get a cucumber, they love them
2. Take your cucumber slice and dangle it around the tank
3. Do that for a few days, never give them any
4. Make a maze and entise them around the maze
5. When finished with maze feed it to them
6. eventually the fish will follow the cucumber anywhere. Even doing jumps out of the water
7. Sometimes fish get really smart and will follow your finger without the cucumber.
Note the fish they are using. They are bubble eye's and moor's. Another term is "celestial," looking at the heavens. They will follow any movement over their head and are bred to be displayed in shallow bowls with the viewer looking at them from above instead of from the side in a standard aquarium.
