A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.
I might just have to go look at the back of the Jaffa Shrine Circus Center here in Altoona...so many pictures are popping up that were taken years ago here at the Jaffa Shrine Circus....Next April 16th - 22nd 2012 will be the 73th Jaffa Shrine Circus...
Jim, I am an old man also. I was just giving you a bit of grace. Speaking of old, there are a pair of unique sea lions here on the show. Apparently they are the last from a Government seizure facility here in Mexico. They were captured in Uruguay along with 8 others and the Government confiscated them when the smuggling ring was busted in the mid 90's. The gent presenting the two of them is a trainer for the Government, and the two he has are the last two from the facility which is now closed down. The Government didn't want to fund and keep the place open for two animals so they have put them on this show until they eventually die. I told the trainer that's a hell of Government you have. In the United States the Government confiscates your animals, and here they give them to you gratis. :)

ReplyDeleteLooks like the Indiana State Fair Coliseum, but then it looks like a lot of other places too.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the IN State Fair Coliseum - but that's just a maybe. A pretty generic building.
ReplyDeleteDon't know how I did it. Take your choice.
