Odd looking position for the animal's tooth. I wonder if it grew naturally that way or if some kind of accident/fight caused the misdirection in growth.

Radar,
I have seen this kind of growth in several hippo's,I think it could be genetic as all the hippo's have been in Australia and are related.Recently at Western Plains zoo,not Werribee,Wade,an old friend of mine has managed to condition 2 bulls to have their malformed tusks accept a hacksaw blade to cut them and over the ensuing months has manged to return them to a more normal size.I will try to get some pics of his work and send them to the blog.
