This is Martin Lacey Jr. above and Alex Lacey whom we have already met. There were no awards given this year, and the other animal acts were Fredy Knies horses, Maude Gruss la Poste, Flavio Tognis elephants, and the Probst baboons. We have reviewed all those acts with the exception of the Probst baboons.
This is a quote from THE STAGE, a British entertainment publication, which reviews the festival each year."Intended to honour its late founder Prince Rainier, the festival was billed as a ‘best of’ with the artists being drawn from previous winners of the festival’s highly sought-after Clown awards. With the passage of time, many acts are no longer performing, so inevitably most of the artists chosen had appeared here during the past ten years.
In a change to the usual format there was no competition but the artists still took part in two shows, repeated over four days, and then again at the Golden Gala."
Wade, while these are beautiful acts, it wasn't fair to include only previous winners, since some of those previous "contests" would have been unfair. I suggest that much great talent was likely to have been excluded that year.
