I found these in an old box so apologize for the condition. That is Ika in the picture above, and below the original White Tigers in 1981, the first and last time we were in a tent. I know you know the line up on the pyramid, so I won't list that. Note one seat empty. That was Ika's and we have discussed his leg in the past. On the right sitting up you will note only 3 tigers. Rema was out that day as she was giving birth. Note the "metal chain" costume top. Not a good idea, it wrecked havoc on my nipples on cold days. LOL Nicky on the far right went to John Cox at the end of the year and Kahn on the far left moved to the front with middle with Rajah, so we could put all White Tigers on the pyramid.

Wade, thank you. You know how much I love these white tiger pictures. The top one has two gorgeous cats!

What year did the stretch bar under the tigers come out?
Darryl,
Are you talking about the stretch bars by their seats, or the bar that went across the the middle of the pyramid. In either case, when we finished the winter dates it's firs time on the road as I couldn't get it out sooner, as I had one practice before opening. LOL As soon as we were home, the barrel, fire hurdle, the lift off bridge, The fire hoop was replaced with the leapfrog, the barrel with the hindleg walk, the lift of bridge with the flip over one, and the two seats were replaced with a lift up back of one of the waltz pedestals. The bar in the middle was left home and the cats sat on either side. The stretch bars at the seats was also 86ed. The following year took out the two seats in the middle to sit on the cat, and used a waltz pedestal instead. We can just say it was Johns idea, because that is the way it should be and there are a "lot" of fables about the act any way, depending on which "expert you are talking to, as I have found from Europe to Mexico to China to Hawaii. LOL
Regards friend,
Wade
Knew the bar under the cats cut the ring in half and made it almost impossible to get from front to back of ring if needed. Still was very full with 17 cats in the ring.
Darryl,
"Almost impossible?" Unless you had wings you weren't getting in back of the pyramid, which caused problems for "chase trainers", as late as 2006. In order to break up a fight you had to be there waiting for them when the arrived. LOL
