The Viktor Schreckengost Birds of the World Ceramic's

These Ceramic Relief Panels by Artist Viktor Schreckengost are part of a collection of twelve small ceramic relief panels of various birds in their natural habitat that were once part of the old Birds Of The World Building.  They are on display inside the Administration & Education Building.

'I think it is great when zoo history is preserved.  It is nice to be reminded that there may be something else of importance, besides an elephant and it's 30 some million dollar "habitat."   It reminds us of a time when zoo were more then just a place to display animals.  It was also a place to enjoy wonderful works of art in an outdoor setting.'
