A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Gene Autry, Champion and Champion Jr.
That poor colt, Champion Jr. sure had to carry iron early in life. He looks to be about a yearling in the picture above. I trust the bridle was only for publicity/photograph purpose's, and not functional.
Wade, I know this not right place for it but it seems that the Casselly family is comming to the USA. I just read on a german circus-site that their last performance in Europe will be from October 13 until November 18 at the La Grand Fete Lilloise Du Cirque, after that they move to Ringling. And also there is a rumour that Krones elephant trainer James Puydebois will return to the USA by the end of this year.
I hope also you are right about Champion Jr. I saw Champion at the ranch in New Hall. Rex took me there to show mw where they made a lot of the westerns. Champion was grazing out in the pasture looking good and he was 40 then.
