A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Cirque Alexis Gruss
I was sure disappointed, given my great respect for Alexis Gruss, when I received these pictures in an email and noted the condition of the stable above, compared to the condition of the public bathroom below. I am going to give the benefit of the doubt and assume the stable shot above was taken early in the morning before the staff had arrived, and the night watchman relieved. If not, there is no excuse for the stable to be less attended then the human bathroom facilities. Too often in the past, more concern was afforded to public, who had a choice to purchase or not purchase a ticket, then was afforded the animals in the show, whom theoretically "had no choice." Gratefully, that has changed drastically on most show's, but there are still a few "bad eggs" who make the rest look bad. Shame, Cirque Alexis Gruss. I really hope this was an exception as you should be one of the greats setting the standard.
