A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Bernie Hoffmann?
Written on the back of this photo is: Lion Cub & Trainer Bernie Hoffmann. July 7, 1986. Who the heck is Bernie Hoffmann? Does anyone have any idea?
Bernie Hoffmann had a big pet shop on Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago. In the 50s and 60s (maybe more but I moved) he was often seen on Chicago TV shows. He'd wear some military-like costume and be the head of the menagerie on Super Circus. My wonderful parents took me to the shop in the late 50s. Lots of monkeys and exotics including an adult lioness. As to being a trainer - don't think so.
Would this be the same person that was Yaro Hoffman?
