A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Vintage Cincinnati Zoo

Radar has posted "new" pictures of the Cincinnati Zoo on ShowmeElephants
Jim, Thank you for the correction. I was going by "zoo in Ohio, maybe Cinn." I assume these bear exhibit's are no longer around. Isn't it a shame that before some of these "oldies" were demolished that a whole series of photo's were not taken of them. There is a fellow over in Germany who travel's to zoo's around Europe taking incredible photo's of old exhibits either in the process of rehabilitation, or of being torn down. I'll post some of his stuff in a few days. Wade

The 1980 photo is from Columbus. They had some pretty bad bear exhibits from the 1950s, long before Hanna.
