A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.
Casey G, You are right. I first thought it was Guy, but on second look because there were only two cat's in the picture, I wrongly assumed it was Von Uhl. Thank you for the correction. Wade
I forgot to sign in on that profile remark. Didn't Von Uhl leave a promising career training Lipizzaner with a prestigious Austrian riding academy to build a cat act?
He built the act on the Castle Show tour in 1965. He showed up with leather belts holding the arena to gather I called a welder in and we put drop pins on it like Pat Anthony's Also had to put bigger caster on all his cages. It was very interesting i always had a fire extinguisher by the door and used it a lot.
I think this is Guy Gossing when he had his lion act. Note the Western cloths he always wore.
ReplyDeleteI never saw Gossing but that sure looks like Von Uhl's profile.
ReplyDeleteI vote with Casey. Looks like Guy's props and trainer looks like Guy too. The Baron usually wore a vest.

ReplyDeletePK,
ReplyDeleteI don't know how "prestigious" it was, or whether he "left" to build a cat act.
