This photo from 1968 is of a lion cub being shown to the children in the Childrens Zoo at Chessington to celebrate his one year birthday. Childrens Zoo's were such a wonderful, important part of a zoo field trip, but the chance taken, and the stressful situations some species were put into is mind boggling today.
