  1. Believe that is King-Cristiani's sway-backed hippo-polar bear semi. They had it for some years up through 1954 after which a new one was built for the 1955 King show.

  2. Moving into dangerous territory with experts that know the tire pressure of each truck and trailer. Could this be the hippo - polar bear trailer on Al G. Kelly- Miller Bros. about 1950.

  3. Jim I do not think this was a Kelly-Miller hip-polar bear combo because the hip is in the front. On K-M they had to have the hip, Miss Oklahoma, in the back so she could be unloaded for her walk around. Also, I think that Miss OK shared a trailer with the rhino which road in the front toward the tractor.

When King built the new cage semi for 1955, they had the polar bear up front next to the tractor with the hip, George, in the rear.

King’s George, like K-M’s Miss OK, and like Buchanan’s Miss Iowa, were all out of Venus and Adonis, Memphis zoo’s prolific hippo pair.

By the way, I like the pun “King’s George,” playing as it does on Brit royalty.

  4. Your honor, the defense rest's it's case. We now turn to Jim Alexander and the prosecution for closing arguments. LOL Good luck, Jim. Tire pressure might be some useful evidence. LOL You kill me, RJR. I am not going to ask you what color the hipp's shit was, because not only could you probably tell me, additionally you could probably show me a sample if I didn't believe you. Zoo/circus animal folks are crazy!!!

  7. Jim,
Any time I make a comment about a circus menagerie situation, I cross my fingers and hope RJR doesn't see it. LOL Guaranteed you will learn something as well as go down. An honor akin to dueling with Aaron Burr. You realize too late, you shot the tree branch 4 foot over his head.
