A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.
Does anyone know how often piebald or pinto spotting occurs with domestic/semi-domestic Reindeer? It seems to have become quite common, as in dromedary camels, yet seldom seen in Bactrian?
From what I have seen in the UK,it appears in herds with white animals and their ofspring crossing back to normal phenotype. After I get my gear off the 'road train',I will share some pics from a farm in Kent which would only be superseded by The Cairngorms Reindeer company in Scotland in terms of number of animals. Cheers ay Glenn
Glenn, FYI I got an auction notice yesterday, regarding seized good's from the UK, impounded at an Australian dock. I bid on one lot, which was described as containing "various knickers and zoological memorabilia and animal interest material, particularly elephants." If I am the high bid(I will know next Monday), I will share some pics from a farm in Kent which would only be superseded by The Cairngorms Reindeer company in Scotland in terms of number of animals. Cheers ay, Wade
You know there will be things in that auction that have 'Wow' factor so make sure you bid honestly, forgot you're a showman, which bit is honest. Cheers ay Glenn
Glenn, I don't know about a "wow" factor, but according to the listing there was definitely an item that had a "your shitting me, right" factor. The Mighty Boosh zoo keeper pajamas are what really caught my eye, with the snake skin knickers and the picture of Vince on the top that say's "I'm just a man in my prime who needs love-squeezins."
