A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Moose Cart
That is a racing sulky hitched to this moose. You have to wonder if they actually raced with the animal, or if it was just the cart of choice in this case?
Anonymous, That's where you sit on a racing sulky. The low driver placement helps prevent tip overs due to a lower center of gravity. I can't imagine a driver getting his feet out of the stirrups and his crotch covered fast enough to prevent an impromptu "hernia examination" with a sharp toed hoof. Wade
Somehow being that much lower and behind an animal would worry me.
