A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Woodland Park Zoo Elephant Ride
1950. This is just about the strangest looking howda I think I have ever seen. It looks like a Maharajah's shooting platform. Who is the handler?
Jim, I thought it was Morgan, but wasn't sure. I didn't even think of Thonglaw. Wow!! That is very possible. Thong is buried in Richmond Illinois. It looks like Morgan preferred a cane hook also. Wade
Morgan Berry and a young Thonglaw?

Why would Thonglaw be buried in Illinois? He died at the Portland Zoo - he was their main breeder for a long time, siring at least fifteen calves.
ReplyDeleteRadar,
ReplyDeleteSorry, blame it on old man Alzheimer. I was thinking of Tunga/Tonga, and crossed him with Thonglaw. Thank you for the correction.
