A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Unknown Trainer--Circus Krone
This photo is from 1954. Why was Gilbert Houcke not with Krone in 54, if he was there in 52 and 61? These unique pedestals look familiar, but at the moment I can't recall who's they were.
Gilbert presented in 1952 the tigers of Paula Busch at winter circus Krone witch has each winter three different programms with different cage acts. Later he presented the tigers from Circus Krone: 1957 – 1959: Circus Krone 1960: Circus Knie 1960 – 1961: Winter Cirus Krone (December – January) 1961: ATA (February – march) 1961: Circus Krone 1962: Circus Krone
This man presented tigers and polar bears trained by Alfred Court. Later Knie's tigers at Knie (47) and Blackpool (48) and also Knie's mixed tiger/lion group also at Blackpool think 1952. From '34 until '39 he also worked in a zoo in France. In 1953 he was at Medrano I think also with Knie's wild animals.

ReplyDeleteThomas,
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean, "I think?" That's an awful lot of "I thinks" for a high line cage act researcher of your stature and fame. LOL
Wade
Wade,
ReplyDeleteJust a mistake of Dutch/English.
A cage act historian of my stature is sure of these facts !
Thomas
Thomas,
ReplyDeleteVery, very good my jonge vriend. LOL I knew for sure it wasn't an alibi, but instead an honest mistake. LOL
