A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Calling all circus animal training historians--Update on yesterday's thread, "Who Was First?"
Terrific, I could listen to Mr Ruffin talk for days.
Heartbreaking when these living, breathing vessels of Circus History pass on, so much of what I love about the Circus, the memories and the stories are gone forever.
Did you know Mr Ruffin, any thoughts or rememberances about him?
My favorite line..."Clyde Beatty said to me, I'm gonna teach you how to be a Lion Tamer" is music to my ears.
