A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Marineland of Florida--A look back 1965
In the mid 60's, in addition to training sea mammals, the Marineland staff had developed additional skills with land mammals, combining them with the performing art of ballet, as well as the leisure activity of of surfing. Might this be the predecessor to the famed Marineland and Game Farm of Canada Sea/Land Mammal show?
Since 1965, I have made 100 visits to my beloved Marineland. My 100th visit was televised by Fox News.
ReplyDeleteSoon afterwards, the world's original oceanarium - which was placed on the National Register of Historic Places - was demolished. Read about my passion for Marineland of Florida at www.florida-backroads-travel.com.
I have a home video of most of this show from 1966.
