A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

How many times has the public been confused between fact and fiction, and how many times have they been led there?
The Monty Python Lion Tamer Human Resource Department, where the applicant uses all the enthusiasm he can muster to prove he is the best for the job.
Listen closely at 0.24 where the "lion tamer wanna be" qualifies herself with "I have always gotten along with cats", and then also goes on to point out "I have a whip and never use it. I simply hold it in my hands!!!!!" Sounds like an interview with any one of a number of "cute and charming" animal trainers, whom don't have a clue so they make it up as they go. Just like a horse trainer wears spurs but never uses them, or a dog trainer carries a leash but never uses it, etc. etc.
The line quoted is from "Lion Tamer", a song in The Magic Show, a Broadway musical from the '70's.
