Clyde Beatty, as we have been told by "experts" on the "history channel" trained only adult "jungle bred killers" captured straight from the jungle, using only two year old's which could be trained properly. Although there are dozens of pictures of Beatty, Stark, and the "Oaks" trainers with cubs, that's the story and we are sticking too it. Joe Horvath and Lou Reagen who were both at the "Oaks" during this time, said that wasn't true, and two year old's were only used in a jam if you needed extra animals to just sit on the seat's and fill the arena.
A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.
