I remember when Raja was born... my dad had been sleeping in the barn for at least four months prior, my mom in the hospital for the same amount of time due to birth complications with my sister. My grandparents swapped every week to take care of the kids during this long period. We spent half of Christmas in the hospital and the other half in the elephant barn, hiding in the hay barn and playing on the elephant stage where they performed shows.
The next year, my kindergarten class took a field trip to the zoo. I was the most poplar kid that day when my dad took me into the stall and let me get a picture on Raja's neck. Great memories back then.
