I just found out from my friend, The Curator below, that Mark Pierson, above with the hose, died a few weeks ago. Mark was a super elephant hand that I inherited from Zych, who in turn inherited him from Rex Williams. Mark was many, many years on Circus Vargas with Rex, and had a photographic memory about where everybody's "skeletons" are buried, and saw "things" as only a night watchman can see them, as well as the location of every good truckstop buffet, and decent casino in the United States. A great guy, who's exploits will provide fodder for jackpots for year's to come. Rest easy, friend Markus.
Wade Burck: Missed you yesterday..One hundred and fifty attended BILL STRONG Memorial...hated to see the day end at Gibtown ShowFolks Club....To many to mention by name....What a great way to spend your first day of the winter in Florida...Happy New Year to you Wade and your bloggers......
ReplyDeleteDave,
ReplyDeleteI wanted to be there so bad, but had an emergency to attend to with the horses. I am sure Billy, of all folks, would have understood, and I can only assume at the number of folks and the great time it was.

WADE!...DON'T SAY ANYTHING TO HER!!!...See, I told you not to say anything! (As Gyp bites the hose) Mark Pierson..
ReplyDeleteMay Mark rest in peace..
I personally wish I would of listened to more of Marks "Gems" of Wisdom...Not only was Mark a dear Freind and sidekick...but he was also a "Sage" of sorts...

Are you a puppeteer Wade?
ReplyDeleteSteve,
ReplyDeleteNo, but people always assume that when I am with this dummy.

I am sorry to learn of Marks passing. This is the third time in less than a month that I have to learn that a friend from the circus passed away. What an end to the old year. May he rest in peace.
