A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

Gainsville Community Circus
Evelyn Kaps Walker, Bitsy Bezner Duffy, and Pat Reagan Helm
Hi Wade,This is the show that PeeWee and Bily Woods started their circus careers. The lady on the left, Evelyn Walker is PeeWee's sister and we just visited with her in Gainesville. Joanne
Joanne, I knew PeeWee and Billy had their start there. But I didn't realize PeeWee had any other family with the show. I have often been asked if there was every any record of how may animal people grew up in the mid west. I have also often wondered how many folks who started with this show, continued on with a circus career. I hope all is well. Give my best to Billy and Trudy.
PeeWee say's that Dave Hoover also started his first lion act in the Gainesvile circus. The circus built his first steel arena for his 2 or 3 lions.Peewee had a whole family in the circus there. the Kaps family was very much a part of the circus. Joanne PS Bill is not doing to good
