Death of Brutus--1898 Woodprint from my collection


Note the meat fork on the right side of this print. It is a standard fork used for feeding meet, and is seen in many old prints/lithographs. I wonder if it was the inspiration for the arena fork that is used in Europe and England, with a different design adaptation.

    I have loved zoo/animal history most of my life. It has been such a changing world, since the day's of the early menageries. Truly fascinating.
