For readers here who may not know her, this is Mrs. Herta(Klauser) Cuneo, arguably one of the greatest bear trainers of the last half century. A Circus Ring of Fame enshrined circus personality, Herta is often referenced as a rare individual who achieved or surpassed the greatness of the father. Her father was famed bear trainer,Walter Klauser for many years animal trainer for famed Cirque Krone in Germany, where Herta spent a good portion of her childhood with her friend, Christel Sembach-Krone before coming to America and Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus with her parents. In addition to myself, an individual considered the best bear trainer in America today were influenced greatly by Herta's advice in training animals and presentation.
A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.
