A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

"Old school"---"New school" What does one have to do with the other?
Wade, "Old School" is the foundation, kind of like the invention of the wheel, but it was very primitive. It is to be learned from, and improved upon. We still have the wheel, but it is used in many diverse and sophisticated applications. "New School" should not be thought of as a static set of rules, but dynamic, always changing, always improving. Mary Ann, If I understand "static set of rules" then a standard would only hinder that. If you are going to change the use of your car from a mode of transportation, into a beautiful, dynamic flower box, wheels are not a concern. Then we decide who has the best car, Richard Petty or Mr. Green thumb. LOL Wade
