A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.
To all horsemen/horsewomen,
ReplyDeleteNote the horse back on his heel on his left front foot. That by God is how you calibrate a hoof angle.

This horse looks scared, and the lion is almost bigger, maybe it would be an more impressive trick if the lion was riding the horse....LOL....
ReplyDeleteThat didn't make any sense....I meant if the horse was riding the lion....
ReplyDeleteMargaret,
ReplyDeleteInitially I wasn't going to run it. Then I realize it was just Margaret being Margaret. LOL
Wade
Wade,
ReplyDeleteI don't know, but this looks computer generated? Am I missing something?

You know what, after looking at those pictures for a while, it's as though the Chinese copied exactly the famous Al G. Barnes poster of the horse on the lion, even to the yellow trimmed red blanket. That poster could have been the reference they used in putting this thing together. Maybe they didn't realize that artistic license was taken in depicting the horse without any protective covering in the advertising.
ReplyDeletePoor bas***ds are probably thinking "what is all the outcry, were just doing what the Americans did" And, those pictures caused a huge outcry in Britain when they first appeared in the press ( I did a little research on them). There is also a tiger in this presentation.

Chris,
ReplyDeleteGood eye. I wondered at that also. I wanted to point out the horse and the lions in any case.
Wade
Wade, check out the videos I sent you - this isn't computer generated
ReplyDeleteIan
Ian,
ReplyDeleteGreat research. That's what it is about. Getting fact's and not letting emotions twist you up. You would be amazed at how many animal people today will look at a painting or artist rendering, and ponder, "how did they get them to do that?" LOL
Wade
I get the "how" on this,,,,I am missing the "why" though. Is there a shortage of draft horses in the far east?
ReplyDeleteI will go out on a limb and say I think the lion is having a grand time.
