A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.
Well then guess I cannot comment on the quality for our discussion.
ReplyDeleteI believe it spelled "pax de deux" but I may stand corrected
ReplyDeleteWade and Dianne - I always thought it was Patty Duke.

OK, I have laid off this one as long as I can stand to, hoping some Frenchman would step in and settle this. Since this has not happened, I will clarify this. It is "pas de deux", literally "step of two", usually used in ballet to describe a dance of the ballerina and her male partner.

Thanks for the update, I was torn between s and z.

Hi Wade,
ReplyDeleteI'm no "expert," but I believe this man riding with Geraldine is her boyfriend Maycol Errani. HE ans his brother do the Icarian (foot juggling) act. Geraldine's ex-husband, Ivan Pellegrini, is part of the Fratelli Pelligrini act that performed in white pants, no shirts at Monte Carlo either this year or the one before. They have a young son who presents ponies with his grandfather Freddie Knie, Jr.

Chris,
ReplyDeleteThank you and I am sorry for the misinformation. The picture was labeled thusly. And I wondered as I knew Ivan was the Freddies grandsons name. Could you contact me please, Chris. wburck3@aol.com
This is Géraldine Katharina Knie with Maycol Errani performing a Pas de Deux on 2 Spanish horses on the Swiss National Circus program 2008. Maycol is Géraldine new boyfriend. She has a son with Ivan Pellegrini: Ivan-Frédéric Knie. This year he shares an act with his grand parents Fredy Knie jr. and Mary-José Knie.

Definitely "pas de deux", exactly as in ballet.
ReplyDeleteAnd the gentleman ceratinly looks like Maycol Errani and not Ivan Pelligrini, who was Geraldine's husband.
John.
