A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

For American readers who have never seen this historical facility, but may have heard of it
This is the Krone Bau in Munich, Germany, or "winter quarters" as we say here. The round building in the middle is where the winter program of Cirque Krone is held for 3 months each winter, and is a chandler laden work of art, especially designed for show casing the Circus at it's finest. The tall red roofed building on the left is Ms. Sembach-Krones childhood home and winter residence. The grey roofed building behind it is the garage, and the red roofed building next to it is the elephant barn. Sitting beside the elephant barn is the ring barn for training hoofstock. Running across the back is barns for the various other "zoo" animals, plus the performing feline acts. Running down the right side are the horse stables, with additional stabling underneath that for additional horses. The white building on the the front corner is the kitchen/cook house, with apartments provided for select retired employees. The square building behind the round building is the holding/preparation area before the acts go on, and to bring the animals in out of bad weather for the show, with dressing rooms for the acts above this. Who wouldn't feel immense pride performing in something like this?
