A Blog designed for discussion of topics related to, but not limited to, Circus, Zoos, Animal Training, and Animal Welfare/Husbandry. Sometimes opening up the dialog is the best starting point of all. And if for nothing else when people who agree and don't agree, get together and start discussing it, it will open up a lot of peoples minds. Debate and discussion even amongst themselves opens a window where there wasn't one before.

And yes Anonymous they even work horses in a hay bale ring in Europe
Dianne, I don't understand the concept of doing a show outside. Maybe Vincent or John can help us. I believe it is a public "preview" of what is available inside the tent. But I am not sure, and Circus Artists are sometimes asked to do odd things in the name of promotion. Borders on the old "circus of the stars" debacle where performers taught their act to actors in a month, giving the impression that what they did was nothing. Many have taken a bite out of the validity of the the Circus for personal gain. Wade
Mary Ann, These are Andalusians, and they like the Lipizzan are born dark and grey out as they mature. Only the American Albino is born white. Kenneth Feld in watching Gunther practice his Lipizzans one day asked, "did I buy new horses?" He hadn't looked close at the horses for 2 years, and as they had lost a lot of their dappling, he thought they were new horses. I will reiterate, just because you own something does not mean you know anything about it. LOL Wade
Such a beautifully attired presentation and a shame to be in presented a straw arena.
