Margaret asked what my other three regrets were. This is one of them.

Nobody is perfect and we all make mistakes. I am sure in hindsight Roy probably regreted having the above costume made. Like wise, I regret the below publicity photo that Clifford Vargas, owner of Circus Vargas talked me into taking in 1981. What can you do except learn, and move on.

  1. Holy Mother Of.........

    WTF!!!!

I would be expecting a less then understanding Mr. Roy Rogers just past the pearly gates, waiting to ambush you for using his image in a post with this....uh...what ever this is.

I can see however, the jump from pink Gunther Bras, to this over the course of a few years. Was there some sort of 12 step program to go through after leaving the Vargas show?

I think I speak for the whole "public" Lets stick to the old zoo pics, and hokey etch-o-sketches of arenas, and not see any more "regrets" caught on film.

  3. Casey,
I have a box full of "you are just jealous" left over from the Monte Carlo debate. I am sure I will get more this coming winter, so I am going to give you one of them. I'll bet your sour you didn't think of it. Even if you do it, and use a tiger skin instead, you will still be copying. Be a little more respectful of us who blazed the trail for you.

  9. Ian,
They were full up on dog trainers. It was a misunderstanding. I thought when he said he wanted me to work General Vargas naked, he meant without tack.

  11. You're a braver man than me Mr Burck!

Were you attempting a "corbette" over the bear prior to this unseemly photo?

  12. If this is only one of your "regrets" do you have plans to show us the others?

I ask so that small children and the elderly can be warned in advance!

  13. Steve,
Speaking of children and the elderly, I was going to send them by private email so my boy's and mother didn't get wind of it.

  14. Steve,
I think we were enacting morning muck out. I remember being told I was the wheelbarrow, by someone that I think was an Aussie. I seem to recall him telling everybody to have a look at Billy's bong what ever that means.

  17. I've been advised by "un-named sources" that a more appropriate comment from me,would be something like....'I know that's not you darlin,if it was your "Billy Bong" would be hanging off the rug'....excuse me I think I just exceeded the maximum BullShit limit....LOL....

  22. No, Margaret, as in "It sets my box on fire Hot!"

  23. Margaret - I'm with you on this one (as usual). My eyes are still burning. I almost fell out of my chair when I scrolled down and saw this picture.

  24. See that folks,
Another prime example of how little we know about what the "public" wants. I would have guessed this photo would set off the gag reflex in most, but now we have women fighting of the guy, and JC thinks the floor looks great. I honestly am clueless.

  25. Casey,
Come on!!! My wheelbarrow and Mary Ann's hot box almost had to be censored. If you think I am going to let gag reflex through you are nuts. That's a little over the line of acceptable. Be more careful.

  26. Well Wade it just proves Mr V had good taste. I would have loved to look over my shoulder while working the dog act waaaaay down in ring 3 and seen you in the center ring. What a fabulous display we would have made! LOL my dear. Thanks for sharing....

  27. Kitten,
None like him before, and none like him after. Once in a life.

  28. Agreed. What a privilege it was to be over there on the big show with him. He would drive his semi from town to town at break neck speed. OMG you could not believe how fast he could make the run! It was a golden age. He really knew talent when he saw it. And he obviously saw it in you.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Kitten,
He used to have "his" truck windexed and armoralled at when he got to the lot and just before he left. His eye for talent is why he had General Vargas, Dale and Billy, etc. the Williams and most importantly and a real legendary outfit, the Vargetts!!!! Weren't they special and something else? Never before and never after.
