Ringling Rome--Ringling America

News reports say audience's have been "tepid/lukewarm. That I would think is good news. What I would have expected is "Stormed the box office, at the greasing they just took!!!"

That's the kind of 'throw a ring curb in an empty building (or stadium, or parking lot) and call it a circus' that helped kill the circus in America. I wonder why it didn't work in Rome. Shame on the Felds for putting on such a disgraceful presentation - not even a ring mat!

TGSOE has meant many things over

the years during good and tough

times but this seems to be a new

bottom of the barrel low

What a crime to present something

like this under a banner of such

tremendous legacy

Thomas,
Is this a Dutch word,"beautifuler?" I am not familiar with it. Just kidding, my young friend. I get your meaning, but I don't know if I agree with Faggoini being more beautifuler then anything Ringling does.

Faggioni's show isn't really MORE beautiful ! But it's a "greater" show with more artists, more animal, etc. The quality of the artists on Ringling will be better. But when you say the greatest show on earth and you bring a one ring show with 20 artists to a stadium and you don't use the platforms of the stadium but some platforms you brought...

Thomas,
Greatest used to mean, "greatest artists, funniest clowns, best available supporting staff of choreographers, musicians, lighting and rigging crews, biggest show, most expensive productions etc." It was very much more then platforms and the number of rings.

Wade,
Alright it's much more but it was just an example. But we can truly say that the shows of Krone, Gruss, Knie, Casartelli and Togni are much greater. They have better artists and it are much more expensive shows.

Thomas,
Not only are the show's you mentioned greater, but they are also bigger and better in most every way I listed. That makes them the "Greatest Show on Earth", and I might have to give the title to Krone, although it would be close. But in America Ringling is still the Biggest Show on Earth.

The title will surly go to Krone in Europe, they have the biggest zoo, top class acts, funny clowns, a big tent,... But what you mean with although it would be close?

Thomas,
I meant 10 years ago it would have been close. Now with the "downsizing" that the other show's you mentioned have done, I have to hand it to Krone. The others are still beautiful, but not the "Greatest"
